At Alma Carraovejas we understand that suppliers are the first link in our firm commitment to the quality of our products. We have agents who know in detail our expectations so that they can adapt to the needs of the company, maintaining a relationship of trust and mutual benefit.

We are aware of the importance of extending our values to the entire supply chain, so we have developed a supplier approval protocol as a way to promote the observation and compliance with regulations and social and environmental sustainability, which covers all the company’s production processes, ensuring greater transparency.

The aim is to ensure that the characteristics of the bottles, corks, capsules, labels, boxes, etc. comply with the highest sustainability parameters, aligned with Alma’s values and philosophy.

Following the quality management systems, we carry out an annual review of suppliers, as well as any incidents that may have been generated and in which any of them were involved. We have also developed a Code of Conduct for suppliers, which commits them to and informs them of the importance of workplace standards and practices, compliance with the law and our responsible environmental and labor criteria. This code is known to 100% of our regular suppliers, and its delivery and confirmation of receipt by them is essential to start working together.

Throughout the year we develop different actions with our allies to jointly improve quality. We recently held our traditional coopers’ tasting at Pago de Carraovejas. An event that brings together the different cooperages with which we work with the management and technical directors of each of our projects, as well as other departments of Alma: sustainability, wine tourism, branding, etc. in order to analyze the parameters and quality of our suppliers.

We also visited the factories where our labels, boxes, bottles, etc. are produced, as part of our close relationship with our suppliers. The objective is to be able to transmit our values to them and to know theirs in order to align both ways of working and establish collaboration agreements.

The selection of product and service suppliers is made according to a series of specific criteria:

  •  Quality of materials.
  •  Contact mechanisms.
  •  Quality-price ratio.
  •  Responsible criteria: environmental and labor.
  •  Proximity.
  •  Support to local suppliers.

.

As long as they meet our requirements in terms of quality of services, Alma purchases goods and services from local suppliers and subcontractors (from the province where the work center is located). In this way, we intend to contribute to the generation of wealth in our environment, through the implementation and development of economic relations with local suppliers..

With these actions, published in the CSR Report, prepared under the GRI standard, at Alma we seek to take care of our relationship with each stakeholder through transparency, dedication and integrity.
