BILITY

At Alma Carraovejas, sustainability is part of our culture. It shapes every decision we make and every process we undertake, becoming a defining element of our identity—a guiding principle that reflects who we are and how we operate.

We have embedded Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into our strategy, pursuing sustainable development not only through the three traditional pillars—economic, environmental, and social—but also by incorporating two additional dimensions: people and ethical governance.

BILITY

Within each of these areas, we implement specific actions and measurable goals that guide our daily efforts to achieve a balance between meeting present needs and safeguarding the opportunities of future generations.

As a result of our commitment and our unwavering dedication to our values, Alma Carraovejas has joined the B Corp movement, becoming the first group of wineries and restaurants in Spain to earn this certification. This achievement stems from a genuine conviction and a set of principles that have been deeply rooted in our organization since its inception, always aligned with a culture of care, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

At Alma Carraovejas, we believe that the commitments we make today help build a better future for generations to come. We embrace continuous improvement as an ongoing journey of growth and evolution, guided by respect, authenticity, and a shared ecosystem that we all help create and protect.

Sustainable Viticulture
  • At Alma Carraovejas, we are committed to sustainable viticulture and organic vineyard management. Our practices include restoring soil microbiology through cover crops and mulching; enhancing the rhizosphere with tailored organic fertilization and the introduction of beneficial microorganisms such as mycorrhizae and Trichoderma; and replacing synthetic chemicals and plant protection products with biological control methods, organic fertilizers, and careful monitoring of environmental conditions and vineyard biodiversity.
  • We apply biodynamic farming practices across all our winegrowing projects. Marañones and Ossian are certified by DEMETER for Biodynamic Agriculture, and the remaining projects are currently progressing through the certification process.
Waste Management and Circular Economy
  • Repurposing vine pruning residues to produce paper pulp used in the manufacture of boxes and labels, as well as biomass for renewable energy generation.
  • Managing by-products such as grape pomace and developing zero-waste recipes at Ambivium Restaurant, where surplus ingredients from culinary preparations are transformed into new gastronomic creations.
  • Source separation of waste to facilitate the recycling of all materials generated across our operations, including packaging, glass, cardboard, and other recyclables.
  • Donating corks to support social initiatives, including a partnership with the Parkinson’s Association of Soria.

Human Sustainability

Since our inception, we have continuously promoted initiatives aimed at fostering the holistic well-being of our people as part of an ongoing process of improvement. In 2016, we began our journey as an EFR-certified organization, reinforcing our commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being.

After more than a decade on this journey, Alma has evolved to develop its own management model in 2026, built around the principles of the 3 Cs: Care, Competence, and Commitment. This framework strengthens our purpose of helping our teams grow both personally and professionally.

Social Sustainability
  • Honesty and transparency in our relationships with all stakeholders involved in our projects are fundamental values that reflect Alma’s commitment to society. Through this approach, we seek to strengthen social cohesion, community stability, and long-term local development.
  • We are dedicated to generating cultural and economic value in the communities where our projects operate, while actively promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • We collaborate with a range of organizations and partners that help us advance the objectives set out in our sustainability strategy.
  • We also prioritize hiring talent from the rural areas where our projects are located and sourcing goods and services from local suppliers whenever possible, contributing to the vitality and resilience of the surrounding communities.
Sustainability Report
  • Each year, we publish the Alma Carraovejas Sustainability Report, which reflects our commitment to a five-dimensional management model focused on People, Ethical Governance, Economic Growth, Society, and the Environment.
  • The Alma Carraovejas Sustainability Report is prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and is informed by our double materiality assessment, ensuring transparency and alignment with internationally recognized sustainability reporting frameworks.
