Compañía de vinos Tricó
In 2024 Alma Carraovejas strengthens its commitment to Galicia by continuing with Compañía de Vinos Tricó, in the Rías Baixas DO. This iconic wine project was started in 2007 in Condado do Tea by José Antonio López. Tricó is an emblem that treasures all the experience that is the reflection of its trajectory of maximum knowledge in the albariño variety after having developed in some of the emblematic wineries of Rías Baixas.
Tricó’s vineyards
The Tricó vineyard is located in the area of Valeixe -one of the areas with the greatest potential and identity of the DO-, in the province of Pontevedra, in the Condado do Tea sub-area, the most historic region, very close to the border with Portugal. A total of seven hectares of vineyards are cultivated between Valeixe and As Neves, where Albariño is the predominant variety.
Since its beginnings, Tricó has been firmly committed to an authentic viticulture of respect and sustainability with a marked identity. Its elaborations have always reflected this philosophy of work in the vineyard and in the cellar with an exceptional ageing capacity. The project is currently selling the 2020 vintage of Tricó and the plot wines Claudia and Nicolás.
Tricó’s wines
Tricó and its aged Albariño wines will become part of the Alma Carraovejas winemaking family. Although the winery was founded in the 2000s, Tricó is already a benchmark as a result of an exhaustive knowledge of the vineyard, the identification of different specific plots, and its commitment to making wines with a greater ageing potential.
